Seven checks, one clear reason

YPYBuy Spreadsheet Checklist Before Saving a Find

Give each row one point for information you can actually use. The score is not a quality rating; it simply shows whether the row is ready for a shortlist or still has important gaps.

Quick answer

Score one point each for category fit, useful photos, visible sizing, a meaningful price comparison, considered shipping weight, clear non-hype wording, and a reason you can state. A row with missing details needs another check, not a confident verdict.

The seven-point checklist

Tick only what the row supports

  • The item belongs in the category I am browsing.
  • Photos show the details that matter for this product type.
  • Sizing, measurements, or fit notes are visible when needed.
  • Price makes sense beside similar finds.
  • Shipping weight does not ruin the value.
  • The row is not just hype or a vague label.
  • I can explain why I would save this find.

Score your row

Use the score as a queue

6–7Strong shortlist candidate
4–5Research more
2–3Weak row
0–1Remove for now

Important: a 7/7 row is not guaranteed to be a good product, safe seller, correct size, or successful order. It only means the row gives you a stronger basis for the next decision.

QC should answer category questions

QC photos by category

More photos are not automatically better. Prefer angles that resolve the details most likely to change your decision.

Shoes & sneakers

Look for both side profiles, toe shape, heels, soles, interior sizing marks, and insole measurement when relevant. Lighting and camera angle can distort shape and color.

Hoodies, shirts & jackets

Use flat garment measurements, front and back views, seams, cuffs, neckline, closures, lining, and a close view of any important surface detail.

Pants

Require a clear waist method plus rise, inseam, opening, and full front/back views. Check whether fabric stretch changes how the measurements should be read.

Bags

Review overall structure, base, corners, handles, strap points, closures, interior, lining, and dimensions. Empty and filled shape can differ.

Watches & jewelry

Use scale references, face or surface close-ups, side profile, clasp or closure, and dimensions. Photos alone cannot confirm material composition or durability.

Accessories & electronics

For fit-led accessories, get the controlling measurement. For electronics, check labels, ports, included parts, condition, and compatibility against current official information.

A QC finder or QC photo finder can help locate images, but the image set still needs to match the item and answer your question. “GC finder” and “GC checker” are common typing variants; this guide uses QC consistently.

Example: lightweight jacket

A strong row and a weak row

These examples show how complete a row is. They do not refer to a real listing or make a product recommendation.

After the score

What to do next

Let the missing point choose the next page. Do not repeat the whole search when one specific check would settle the row.

Missing category or comparison?

Open the category guide, pick the closest product type, and compare a small batch using the same checks.

Missing size, source, or QC photos?
